King Middle Earth Day art

Artists from King Middle School helped celebrate Earth Day by entering a poster contest sponsored by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

Students in grades 4-12 were encouraged to illustrate how they can create a greener future.

This year’s contest theme was “How do you take care of your environment?”

Yuka A.'s poster was selected to represent our region at the state level.

A work by 8th grader Yuka A. was chosen as the finalist for FDEP’s Southwest District, which includes Manatee, Hardee, Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.

It features a pair of hands holding the planet Earth with the words, “Our planet, it’s in your hands.”

King Middle students Jessica M. and Leni B. both received an Honorable Mention award for their creative posters.
