The School District of Manatee County Gifted Education Family Night was a huge success!
It was held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Manatee Technical College.
Families had the opportunity to engage with school-based teams and explore K-12 gifted programming and enrichment opportunities.
District business partners also provided information about their programs. There were food trucks, too.
NEW this year:
Representatives from all seven Manatee County traditional public middle schools were available to showcase their unique programming and enrichment opportunities.
Additionally, the elementary gifted teachers worked collaboratively to share the seven goal areas of Florida’s Framework for K-12 Gifted Learners.
Teachers facilitated an interactive experience for all event participants around the areas of:
· Complexity of Knowledge & Fields of Study
· Questioning, Research Skills, and Strategies
· Creative and Critical Thinking
· Leadership
· Personal, Academic, and Career Goal Setting
· Authentic Product and Performance Development
Thanks to everyone who made this event a success! Special thanks to Kari Schrock, ESE Coordinator, for sharing Good News.
