Elementary-aged students spent part of their summer immersed in a day-long arts camp. The Manatee Arts Education Council (MAEC) hosted the “smARTen UP” summer camp in an effort to enhance and enrich the lives of students through dance, theatre, band, orchestra and media arts. It took place at Lee Middle School from June 7th to June 11th. According to MAEC, certified camp instructors and highly qualified arts educators in areas not traditionally offered in elementary schools.
