There's a little bit more sunshine on the school campus of Palm View K-8. Tropicana HQ has donated a recycled Buddy Bench for students to utilize while outside.
Principal Kaththea Johnson says a Tropicana employee got the idea to recycle their bottles / bottle caps and make benches for schools. A second Buddy Bench was given to Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary.
What is a Buddy Bench? Any student who does NOT have a buddy to play with, goes and sits on the Buddy Bench. When another student sees this student seated on the bench, they are encouraged to walk over and invite them to play. Thus, making a new Buddy!
