The School District of Manatee County’s graduation rate increased 3.4 percentage points during the 2023-2024 school year, according to graduation data released today by the Florida Department of Education. The Manatee District’s overall graduation rate rose from 82.3 percent in 2022-2023, to 85.7 percent in 2023-2024.

Highlights of the graduation results released today include:

  • Bayshore High’s graduation rate grew 9.1 percent, to 81.4 percent in 2023-2024.

  • Braden River High rose 1.7 percent, to 92.4 percent in 2023-2024.

BRHS Grads

  • Lakewood Ranch High held steady at 96.5 percent.

LRHS Grads

  • Manatee High increased 4.4 percent, to 85.0 percent in 2023-2024.

MHS Grads

  • Palmetto High jumped 5.9 percent, to 90.7 percent in 2023-2024.

Palmetto

  • Parrish Community High went up 0.4 percent, to 95.1 percent in 2023-2024.

PCHS Grads

  • Southeast High’s graduation rate surged 12.7 percent, to 89.2 percent in 2023-2024.

SESH Grads

“Today’s results are a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our high school seniors and those invested in their success,” said Superintendent Jason Wysong. “The support our students receive every day from their parents, families, teachers and school leaders is the driving force behind the gains in graduation rates. We are proud of the improvements, and we are committed to making further advances, for the Class 2025 and beyond.”

School District leaders will present more information about the initiatives and programs that contributed to these increases during the School Board meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., held at the Walter E. Miller School Support Center, located at 215 Manatee Avenue West, in Bradenton.
