(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Tuesday LRHS anatomy and physiology students worked together to build 3D models to grow an understanding of the different types of neurons.

Anatomy and Physiology teacher Kelly Smith-Williams said, “Neurons are microscopic making them a difficult topic to understand, so by building a 3D model students are able to make the structures and see how all of the pieces fit together.”

The students were tasked with creating one of the three types of neurons out of Play-Doh, they would form the structures and label the part and write the function.

Junior Kaeli Richardson said, “Building this neuron allowed me to learn each part of a neuron and each parts function which will prepare me for future tests.”
