Sugg Middle School Agriscience students reap the rewards of their hard work.
This week, students harvested green beans planted by Kimberley Lough and United Way Suncoast “Garden Ranger” volunteers.
Ms. Lough is the Agriscience teacher and FFA advisor for Sugg Middle.
A pilot garden was put in the ground ahead of the students’, so they could have a vision for their own gardens.
Classes learned the proper size and techniques for harvesting, before filling up baskets of green beans.
Students cleaned the veggies and snapped them, before handing them over to Mrs. Roxie, the cafeteria manager.
She cooked them, shared knowledge about southern cuisine and the recipe, before a green bean feast.
A true farm-to-fork experience in the urban garden at Sugg!
