The hallways of Braden River Elementary are alive with beloved book titles and their characters.
Doors and hallways are decorated with reptiles, real-life heroes and wondrous things.
Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program that kicked off this week. It runs until late April.
Students, kindergarten through fifth grade, went searching for the names of 20 different books that will be included in this year's event, 10 books for K-2nd grades and 10 books for 3rd-5th grades.
Once a student has read a book, they have a chance to earn a book charm by passing a quiz about it. Eventually, a Battle of the Books Champion will be named.
