The Palmetto Boys Basketball team had a great season which led to recognition from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA).
Senior Derrick "Duke" Timmons was named Class 6A-District 16 Player of the Year.
The multi-sport athlete recently signed to play football for Northwest Missouri State to transition from a Tiger to a Bearcat.
That's not all.
Abel Varnadore, who took the reins in 2021, was named Class 6A-District 16 Coach of the Year.
