Mrs. Samantha Biggs, an assistant principal of Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS), has been honored by the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a recipient of the 2025 Yale Educator Award. This prestigious recognition is part of the Yale Educator Recognition Program, which celebrates exceptional educators from around the globe for their dedication to supporting and inspiring students to reach their highest potential. Mrs. Biggs began her teaching career at LRHS in 2015 and has spent the majority of her career inspiring AP Human Geography and AP Seminar students.
From the 302 nominees representing 38 states and two countries, 61 teachers and 26 counselors were chosen to receive this award. The selection process involves matriculating students, including 2025 LRHS graduate Addison Shea, nominating high school educators. A committee of Yale admissions officers reviews each nomination individually. In September, the winners received their awards along with congratulatory letters, and their respective high school administrators were notified of their remarkable achievement.
The Yale Admissions Office attributes the exceptional quality of its student body to educators like Mrs. Biggs, who serve a crucial role in shaping their students' futures. We join the prestigious university in extending its heartfelt gratitude to educators for their unwavering dedication to motivating and supporting their students.
Lakewood Ranch High School, with the support of staff, parents, and the community, strives to inspire each student to recognize and achieve their maximum potential through academic excellence, personal integrity, and responsible citizenship. Mrs. Biggs' recognition is a testament to this mission and her exemplary commitment to her students.
