PCHS Bulletin – Kylie Bouchard and Madison Davenport

The Technology Student Association at Parrish Community High School is expanding. The new building that opened last year includes a new, official TSA lab in addition to a larger classroom for the program to increase membership and production.
Kim Brown is a new staff member at PCHS. She runs technology classes and advises the TSA program. She was previously the TSA advisor at Dr. Mona Jain Middle School.
This is a big change for Brown because of the difference between middle school and high school TSA programs. She said middle schoolers tend to be more reliant on their advisors where high schools are more independent.
Brown also explained that there are 40 events offered at the high school level that all revolve around technology. These events are more complex than her previous experience with middle school events, but Brown is ready for the challenge.
Membership has jumped drastically this year. 41 students have signed up so far, compared to the 6 that participated last year. It's incredible how much the program has grown.
All the officers this year are freshmen. Brown is excited to see how they learn and grow with the program.
The official officers are:
President: Haven Wood
Vice President: Adam Nagih
Secretary: Ian Johnson
Treasurer: Aubrey Pereira
Reporter: Olivia Drobny
Sergeant-at-Arms: James Stephenson.
TSA participates in conferences and competitions. Conferences are for TSA leadership to workshop and collaborate while in competitions the members compete in their events.
The first leadership conference of the year is October 22-25.
TSA will compete in three competitions later this year, including:
Regionals on February 2.
States on March 35-28
Nationals June 22-26
TSA has open labs every Tuesday and Wednesday where kids can come in anytime from 2:30-5:00 and work on their projects. They are excited for the future of the program.
