Bulletin: Student Government

PCHS Bulletin – Alyse Renda

Published – October 10, 2025

Homecoming events began at Parrish Community High School on Monday, Oct. 6. The week consists of spirit dress up days, a trivia night, and concludes with the annual football game and homecoming dance.

The Student Government Association (SGA) has been working hard to prepare for homecoming. They announced the theme Friday, Sept 19 during a morning pep rally to prepare for the football game against Braden River. The energy in the air was exciting. During the excitement, SGA brought out a banner announcing the homecoming theme: A Lovely Night.

This announcement was then followed up with a video on the SGA social media pages where SGA officers nodded to an iconic number from the movie “La La Land” to further promote the theme.

This announcement was quickly followed by the spirit dress up days:

  • Monday Oct 6: Pajama Day

  • Tuesday Oct 7: Clone Day

  • Wednesday Oct 8: Shine like a Star

  • Thursday Oct 9: Class Colors

  • Friday Oct 10: Parrish Pride

Homecoming festivities will continue with the football game on Friday, Oct. 10 against Gateway. The homecoming court winners will be announced during halftime. Then festivities will conclude with “A Lovely Night” dance on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Parrish Community’s SGA has really improved their game this year. The difference has a lot to do with the new teacher sponsors who are very involved. Peyman Nazarian and Amber Ridenbaugh have played a tremendous part in keeping this club involved with the school.

Nazarian says “It’s not just about student government but about the student body as a whole. It is important and encouraged that everyone tries to participate and make their high school experience memorable.”

This is a great mindset to have as they are creating events everyone in the school can become a part of. The school spirit and excitement have heavily increased.

Just in the first two months they moved the student section next to the band at the football game to create a more interactive and fun game for the students. They have taken pep rallies and football tailgates to the next level. On the morning of home football games for the bulls, the school’s student government sets up a pep rally in the courtyard including the band, cheerleaders, and the football players. Then, later into first period they come into classes to inspire students to have more school spirit, especially on game days.

Nazarian also expressed gratitude about tailgates in the sense that the student government has revamped them, causing more involvement from a bigger percentage of the student body.

There is so much to continuously look forward to this school year for PCHS, considering the great mind and ideas behind the events.
