PCHS Bulletin – Katelynn Edwards
Date Published - November 18, 2025
The PCHS boys’ golf season ended with Owen Paoli (So.) earning an individual spot at the Class 3A State Championship at Mission Resort and Club on November 11-12, 2025.
Coach Doug Patterson said Paoli “battled the elements, the course, himself, and his opponents to secure a great finish for the season,” additionally warning that Class 3A “better watch their backs” for the 2026 Bulls.
The boys ended the season with some amazing accomplishments. They had an all-time regular-season low of 4.087 statistical average, as well as scoring the team's all-time lowest score of 141.
Leading up to the FHSAA state series were some standout regular season matches, including a 3rd place finish on October 13 at the Manatee County Championship at the Heritage Harbor Golf Club. Among the scorers were Paoli with 70 strokes, Tristan Pasch (Jr.) with 73, Colton Hallam (Sr.) with 72, Luke Crane (Sr.) with 85, and Grayson Meyer (Jr.) with 87.
On October 16, the boys defeated Palmetto with an extremely strong score of 157-205.
On October 21, the team took on Lemon Bay with an overall score of 147. Paoli set the all-time low scoring record with 32 strokes.
The final match of the regular season was on October 22 against Pineview and Palmetto. Paoli scored 36, Pasch scored 37, Hallam scored 41, and Crane scored 45.
These matches prepared the boys for the District Championship on October 27, where they finished 4th overall with a score of 322. Miles Burke (Fr.) was a standout for conquering his first big state event with 90 strokes.
The results were too close to call, so the boys had to wait to find out if they qualified for the Regional Championship. The wait was worth it because they advanced as a team as the third of four ranked extra qualifiers.
In the Regional Championship on November 4, the team came up four spots short in the bid for states despite their best efforts.
However, Paoli took the #6 seed as an individual for the state championship due to his front round score of 33 that Patterson said, “lit the rocket ship to state qualification.”
“One goal that I set for myself this season was to make it to States, so it felt good to make it, although it was kind of disappointing that the team could not do it together,” Paoli said, adding that the weather was the most challenging factor at states.
To the team, Coach Doug Patterson closed with this message: “Players, you’ve done tremendously this season, and it is one for the record books. You’ve participated in some Parrish Golf history, and I am honored to have been able to lead you all this season.”
