Bulletin: Volleyball

PCHS Bulletin – Madison Davenport and Haven Wood

The volleyball season has officially come to an end. It was a difficult season, but the girls fought hard and made their Bulls family proud. 

The last home game of the season was against Southeast on Thursday, October 9. This was also Senior Night for both teams. The team’s two seniors, Mia Davis and Madeleine Winslow, walked into the gym with their families and received flowers from Head Coach Danielle Stevenson. 

After Senior Night, the Varsity girls moved on to the district playoffs. The girls played and won against Palmetto in the semifinals on Tuesday, October 14. They then moved on to play against Lakewood Ranch in the finals on Thursday, October 16. Though they didn't win, they put out a good fight until the end. 

Varsity ended their season with a final record of 10-13. 

On Wednesday, October 29, the volleyball team had their end of season banquet. At the banquet, different awards were given to each team. 

On the Freshman team, a Coach’s Award was given to Madison Davenport, and the title MVP was given to Gabriella Borko. 

On the JV team, the Coach’s Award went to Raelyn Stoddard, and the MVP title went to Payton Lake.  

On the Varsity team, the Coach’s Award went to Addison Brower while the MVP title was awarded to Katie Bradshaw. Additionally, Bradshaw received a Best Defense award while Alysa Jones received a Best Offense award for their contributions on the court. 

In other news, two players have officially committed to playing volleyball at a college level. Davis announced her verbal commitment to play beach volleyball at the State College of Florida. Khyler Reed (Jr.) additionally announced her verbal commitment to play D1 volleyball at Western Carolina University.
