PCHS Bulletin – Katelynn Edwards

Published Date - December 5, 2025

There are so many ways we can help others during the holidays. This year, PCHS had the chance to change kids' lives all over the globe. There are many people in the world who are not as fortunate as others. It is important to help others not just during the holidays but every day.

PCHS clubs All For Him (AFH), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and Christian Leadership Club (CLC) participated in Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a program put on by the Samaritans’ Purse that provides presents to children around the world who are less fortunate. Not only do they get gifts, but they also get to learn about our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. As Jesus said, “we must give to others, for then he will give to us” (2 Corinthians 9-6:8).

Anyone can donate to this program but is encouraged to follow certain guidelines. Recommended donations include:

  • “WOW” item: Soccer ball with pump, Doll, Stuffed animal, Shoes

  • Toys: Toy cars, jump ropes, yo-yos, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries)

There are many ways we can help children all over the globe learn more about Jesus get a gift from someone new this Christmas. Donating will not only give the child a present for Christmas, but it will also spread knowledge that could changes their lives.

FCA leader Oliver Rogers said, “it gives the kids a chance to get something new that they may not be able to get on an everyday basis, and it lets them know that there are people out in the world who care about them and that Jesus loves them, and it give these kids a chance to learn more about Jesus as well as it gives them a chance to hear the gospel when they may not be able to hear it daily.”

AFH, FCA and CLC had two days after school to start packing presents for the kids. Oct. 31 and Nov. 14 in room 9-110 (Mrs. Junkers’ room). Altogether there were 64 boxes packed.

Christmas is so much more than getting gifts for ourselves. It gives us a chance to focus on someone else's Christmas. Just one thing can change someone's life forever.
