Published Date - December 19, 2025
The first half of the boys’ soccer team at Parrish Community High School currently stands at a 6-5-1 record with a final game before winter break on Friday, Dec. 19 against Lakeland Christian.
Head Coach Gabriel Mazo’s goals are to learn and grow from last season. He said that last year they had a great season, and he hopes to keep it up and improve this year as they prepare for upcoming district rival games.
This year’s team is led by three captains: Ryder Spisak (Sr.), Tyler Clayson (Jr.), and Kael Kohrman (Jr.).
Spisak spoke about the team’s progress so far, saying, “The season started and we were a new team, so we had to get chemistry together and improve. The middle of the season had a dip in it, and we hope to win games going into districts.”
Additionally, the team celebrated their seniors on Friday, Dec. 12. The seniors this year include Spisak, Zackery Steele, Caleb Gibson, and Yanni Terzi. Parents walked their players across the field, and the coaches congratulated them on a great four years.
The boys have yet to play against their district rivals; that will take place in the second half of the season. However, they are currently ranked second in the district due to their team record and their competition schedule.
The breakdown of their 6-5-1 record is as follows:
Wins:
Nov. 3 @ Bell Creek Academy 10-2
Nov. 10 @ Lakewood 8-0
Nov. 19 vs. Southeast 3-0
Dec. 1 vs. East Bay 5-2
Dec. 5 @ North Port 1-0
Dec. 12 vs. Bayshore 6-0
Losses:
Nov. 21 vs. Venice 0-2
Nov. 24 vs. Mitchell 0-3
Nov. 25 @ Wiregrass Ranch 0-4
Dec. 8 @ St. Petersburg 2-3
Dec. 15 vs. Sarasota 0-1
The team tied against Braden River on Dec. 10.
The boys’ JV team has also been hard at work. However, they have only played 2 games this season. On Nov. 21, they tied 0-0 with Venice. On Dec. 10, they won 3-0 against Braden River.
It looks like the PCHS boys’ soccer team is going to have an interesting season. They will come back in January ready to chase their goals during the second half of the season.
