In 2024, she became the first lifter in PCHS history to medal at States. In 2025, she earned the silver medal, bettering her placement from the year before.

Now Zoey Morelli can add a state championship to her already stacked resume.

In her junior year, Morelli set brought home a FHSAA Individual State Championship, the first for her and the first for Parrish Community High School.

Head Coach Remi Hebert acknowledged the significance of Morelli becoming the first PCHS student athlete to win an individual title.

“Zoey’s state title is not only huge for our program but was also huge for our school,” Hebert stated. “Zoey continues to set a new standard of excellence.”

Morelli admitted that this year’s state meet brought more pressure than the last two because of her success, but it only pushed her further.

“I felt more focused and determined than last year, and that dedication made the experience even more rewarding,” Morelli stated.

Rewarding indeed, Morelli’s state-winning lift was 315lbs, which broke the state record by 25 lbs.

“Finishing the lift that secured the state title was an exciting and rewarding feeling,” Morelli said. “All the long hours in the gym and thoughtful preparation had come together and finally paid off. I stayed focused under the pressure, and it was such a rewarding feeling to see all my hard work pay off in that moment.”

“It was not just about the weight on the bar; it was about the discipline, the consistency, and the mindset it took me to get in the position. Knowing I was able to set a record at a state level performance made the accomplishment beyond meaningful to me.”

Alongside Morelli, Madeleine Frazzini (So.) placed 11th in the Traditional category of her second States stint. Hebert noted her “tremendous” progress since last season.

“She continues to push herself and work hard,” Hebert said. “She is still as driven and talented as she was her first year, and she just continues to get better. What stands out the most from her first to second year is her confidence and knowing what it takes to perform at the state level.”

Overall, this season was very successful for the PCHS Girls Weightlifting Team. From an expanded roster to Morelli’s state championship, Hebert has hope for the sport going forward.

“I love to see that this sport is growing,” Hebert said. “We were focusing this whole season on being intentional with everything we did. These girls understood the standard we had set and worked hard every day to get there. I am excited for next season and to see where it takes us!”
