PCHS Bulletin – Katelynn Edwards

The end of the quarter brings many stressful things like tests and projects to finalize grades. It can be a lot. Why not release some of that stress on something comedic?

PCHS Junior Advisory Board (JAB) ran a fundraiser for prom called “Pie a Teacher”.  Nearly 30 PCHS teachers volunteered to potentially get a pie to the face.

Students had two weeks to donate money to the teachers’ bucket during lunch or donate virtually with the QR code JAB posted online. The top three were pied during C Lunch on Friday, March 13.

The top three “lucky winners” were Theater Director Olga Pena, English Teacher Amanda Hedman, and Principal Daniel Bradshaw.

TV Production recorded the event and will share the results on the morning news. Additionally, the video will be posted to the Journalism Instagram page (pchs_bullpen).

Aurora Noris is the fundraising offer in JAB. Coincidently, she is also the one who pied Pena.

JAB’s focus is preparing for the spring prom. Noris said, “I wanted to join JAB because I like the idea of planning a big party and getting to be in it, also just being able to help our school plan events.”

JAB members used this fundraiser to promote the event and cover event costs.

Norris said social media is their best platform to promote prom. “Our social media manager Sydney has done a great job this year getting everything on Instagram.”

JAB’s latest Instagram post highlights a last chance “fire sale” for prom tickets April 1 and 2 only for $100. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to buy their tickets, so they don’t miss out on an "enchanted” night.
