In just their third year as a program, the Parrish Community High School girls lacrosse team wrapped up the 2026 season with a mix of breakthrough moments, growth, and determination.
The Bulls finished the year 2–8, but the record doesn’t fully capture the team’s resilience. Their biggest highlight came in February, when they secured back‑to‑back victories. First, a 7–5 win over Sarasota, followed by a 10–6 win over St. Petersburg. For a young program still building its identity, the wins marked an amazing achievement for the team.
The Bulls carried that momentum into the district quarterfinals, where they battled Wharton in a close game that ended 8–9. Though the loss stung, the one goal margin showed just how far the team has come since its inaugural season.
This year’s roster blended returning players with newcomers who were picking up a lacrosse stick for the first time. Despite the challenges of learning a fast, physical sport, the Bulls continued to improve week after week, tightening their defense, sharpening their stick skills, and developing chemistry on the field.
For the seniors, this season marked the end of their journey as the program’s early trailblazers. Many of them joined when the team was brand new, helping lay the foundation for future Bulls to build on. Their leadership, energy, and willingness to grow have shaped the culture of the team.
The team looks ahead to the 2027 season, increasing scoring consistency, strengthening defensive communication, and pushing deeper into district play. With more experience, rising talent, and a growing interest in the sport at Parrish Community, the Bulls are just getting started.
