Make it five!
The PCHS Lady Bulls Softball Team took down the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs in a 7-0 shutout for their fifth straight district championship.
The Bulls went up 4-0 in the first inning and never looked back, as Emmaline Van Beck (Jr.) pitched nine strikeouts and Mylee Gilbert (So.), Gabi Jimenez (Fr.), Alysa Jones (Jr.), and Devan Kuszmaul (Fr.) stacked up the team’s seven runs.
Both Gilbert and teammate Kiley Nowaczyk (So.) are confident in the team’s progression and ability to continue this momentum throughout the remainder of the playoffs.
The Lady Bulls advanced to the regional quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 7, where Van Beck pitched a seven-strikeout game to help take down Sunlake 3-0. They will now host Mitchell for semifinals on Tuesday, May 12 at 7pm.
