The Bulls Theatre Company Thespian Troupe 10185 took seven performances to the Thespian State Festival in Tampa from March 18-21. While there, they also saw two off Broadway shows.
Throughout the event, students attended a variety of engaging workshops tailored to improve their performance skills. Options including belting sessions, dance workshops, and classes focused on strengthening audition techniques. These opportunities allowed participants to explore new areas of theatre while enjoying a supportive and inspiring environment.
Alongside the workshops, the troupe highlighted its talent by participating in seven events, exceeding the typical limit due to a special state level performance of their One Act Brian the Comet. Their events included three solo performances, a small group musical, a large group musical, and a students choreography piece.
A standout moment of the trip was performing Brian the Comet at the Straz, offering students the chance to experience a professional level venue and audience.
Brain the Comet previously saw success at the One Act festival back in December with a superior rating.
The troupe also celebrated significant achievements during the event. Kiera Woelfel earned recognition as part of the All-star cast, while Jovie Gaddis received the Outstanding Supporting Actress award for her one act performance.
In addition to performing, attendees enjoyed watching mainstage productions such as A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The combination of workshops, performances, and recognition made the trip both relaxing and rewarding, leaving an impression on everyone involved.
