The beach volleyball team wrapped up its season with the district playoffs on April 20 after months of competition and team growth. Throughout the season, players said the team continues improving and creating a stronger foundation for the future of the program.
Senior Madeline Winslow said that the team is proud of “having a stronger record than last year” showing the progress the group has made since last season. Along with improving performance, the players also focused on creating a supportive environment within the team.
As the seniors prepare to graduate, they hope the other players on the team can continue the positive experience within the group. Winslow encouraged the team to “cheer for your teammates, don’t be nonchalant, hype up everyone” highlighting the importance of support of positive energy during the season.
As the school year comes to an end, several seniors are preparing for the future. Winslow plans to attend the University of South next year to study biology, while Mia Davis will be playing beach volleyball at State College of Florida.
Although their time with the group has ended, they carry the friendships and experiences they got through playing with the team. “The sport made me so much closer with people throughout high school,” said Winslow.
While this season has come to a close, the team is looking forward to next year, hoping for more growth by carrying forward the positive team environment that strengthens the team.
