The PCHS Student Government Association reflected on the ‘25-26 school year and announced next year’s officers.
The officers for the ‘26-27 school year include:
Co-Presidents: Sophia Thomas and Zoey Morelli
Vice President: Savannah White
Secretary: Sianalis Thomson
Treasurer: Kendall Williams
Historian: Olivia Kuhlber
As these new officers prepare for next year, the members of SGA reflected on the events from the ending school year.
SGA was run by two new advisors: Peytam Nazarian and Amber Ridenbaugh. SGA members said they have been outstanding advisors and have done a great job making the year memorable.
The year began with SGA hosting senior sunrise. The senior class came to school bright and early for breakfast and pictures with their friends as “the sun rose” on their senior year.
SGA strived to carry on football game traditions with tailgates, prep rallies, and dress up themes. The themes this year included camo, USA, white out, Hawaiian, and neon. SGA members felt the school spirit was “unmatched” from previous years. They also moved the student section to sit near the PCHS Marching Band to bounce the energy off each other.
The big event of the fall semester was homecoming. SGA hosted the homecoming dance with the theme “A Lovely Night.” Jake Bendana and Mykaila Mazner were announced as homecoming King and Queen.
Homecoming also brought spirit week. The dress up days included pajama day, clone day, star day, class colors, and Parrish Pride. Additionally, during the week, SGA hosted a trivia night in the cafeteria.
The spirit continued with the holidays. In December, SGA hosted a Winter Wonder week with more dress up days: Mistletoe Monday for students to wear their favorite Christmas socks, Sleigh Sleepwear for students to wear Christmas pajamas, Candy Cane Day to dress in red and white, and Ugly Sweater Day. Additionally, SGA hosted a holiday movie night with the holiday classic “Home Alone: Lost in New York.” They also held an “Awkward Family Photoshoot” for students to grab their friends for a good laugh and take awkward photos.
In the spring, SGA hosted the second annual Parrish Got Talent. Student performers included Ashton Brocksterman, Benjamin Tomczuk Ross, Samantha Capasso, Thein Nygen, Kyle Ni, Brayden Belak, Jomari Coleman, Olivia O’Connor, Sadie Wilkinson, Emma Wood, Curtis McBurnie, Da’rion Whipper, Olivia Kuhlber, Mia Linan, Kendall Williams, Valerie Bradford, Isabella Licata, Neshira, and Niemah Jackson for a variety of musical talents. There was also a performance by the PCHS band and comedic acts by Nazarian and fellow teachers Gordillo and Medred.
The winner of the talent show was Da’rion Whipper for his musical performance.
SGA looks forward to a new school year with more spirited events to bring the PCHS community together.
