PCHS Bulletin - Paige Harlow

As PCHS opened its doors for the first week of the school year, each student received a handbook and attended their class meetings which included information on school procedures and school rules, including possible changes from last year.

Parrish Community High School has a cut and dry handbook that outlines campus policies and procedures. This handbook contains every rule of the school down to specifics of dress code and provides every disciplinary action that will be taken upon failure to meet the requirements of the school regulations. All admins follow the code of the student handbook in terms of consequences, so, if needed, students can always check the handbook to refer to a consequence.

If students want to avoid a trip to the discipline building, they should remember some of these key takeaways:

  • Student drivers should ensure they have a parking pass and park in their assigned spot as indicated on their pass. They should also follow all rules of the road while entering and leaving campus.

  • Students should try their best to be on time for first period every morning. It will save lots of stress and set the tone for the day.

  • Do not be out-of-area at any time. Students should use their class assigned bathroom pass or have a blue corridor pass (or other designated pass) anytime they leave class. Leaving class is based on the teacher's discretion and approval.

  • Follow the dress code. Wear appropriate tops and bottoms that cover shoulders, midriffs, and undergarments.

These are some of the most common disciplinary issues the administrators and deans deal with on campus. Students are encouraged to follow these clear policies to avoid consequences and have a successful school year.
