With the conclusion of winter sports, the academic GPA rankings have been released by the FHSAA.

Girls Basketball - 5th with a 3.646 GPA
Boys Soccer - 3rd with a 3.458 GPA
Girls Soccer - 14th with a 3.619 GPA

Competitive Cheer - 19th with a 3.463 GPA
Boys Wrestling - 12th with a 3.246 GPA
Girls Wrestling - 12th with a 3.477 GPA
For the second straight year, the Girls Weightlifting team took home the academic championship. Head Coach Remi Hebert praised her athletes’ dedication and ability to push each other towards staying on top of work in and out of the weight room.
“It really speaks to the type of student-athletes they are,” Hebert stated. “This group is committed, disciplined, and takes pride in doing things the right way. Winning it two years in a row isn’t something they take lightly-it shows consistency and a lot of hard work behind the scenes. I’m just proud of them for representing themselves, their families, and our school the right way.”
In order to continue this success, Hebert put a focus on culture, which is very important for a team that nearly doubled in size from last year to this year.
"We’ll keep supporting them and emphasizing balance, but at the end of the day, it’s their effort and mindset that drives it,” Hebert said. “If they stay consistent and keep pushing each other, I think they’ll do great things.”
These rankings combined with the previous announcement of fall sports currently puts PCHS in second place of Class 6A for the Academic Team Championship.

When spring sports conclude their seasons, the GPA rankings will be released. The hope is that Parrish Community continues to show a strong balance between sport and classroom performance.
Overall, Parrish Community is trailing behind George Steinbrenner (Lutz) 63-69 for the academic championship. The winning school at the end of the year will receive a plaque.
