Carter Bagshaw – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Many Mustangs may not realize it, but there is an LRHS boys hockey team and the team has completed tryouts.
The Mustangs play out of Ellenton Ice Arena. The hockey program here at LRHS began just this year. Formerly known as the Manatee Admirals, the name was changed to Lakewood Ranch Mustangs for this season.
The Mustang ice hockey team is excited and ready for the upcoming season. The team includes students from around local high schools like Lakewood Ranch, Cardinal Mooney, and Lakewood Ranch Prep.

Coach Peter Sibner said, “I really believe in these boys. They are a talented group and I believe they can go far this year,” when asked his thoughts on the upcoming season. Other staff members and assistant coaches include JS Gagnon and Johnny May.
The Mustangs will face-off against notable opponents like the Sarasota Ice Rays and the Palmetto Tigers.
The Mustangs will participate in the Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL). The LHSHL provides students and schools a means to participate in an exciting and challenging hockey league with high competition.
