Aiden Hill-Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - New Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS)( Biology and Anatomy/Physiology teacher Jeffery Camp brings military, pharmaceutical and technological experience to the school science department.
Following high school, Camp enlisted into the military served 32 years in the National Guard.
While in the military, Camp got his associate's degree before leaving to go to Siena College where he earned bachelor's degrees in chemistry and biology.
After college, Camp worked in pharmaceuticals before joining IBM in 1996.
Camp worked at IBM for over 20 years including on the ASP 100 and the RS6000 computer systems and “being an executive running the storage business for IBM out of Dubai for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.”
After retiring from IBM, he did organizational change management for the Department of Veterans Affairs before joining LRHS.

Camp has master's degrees from Depaul University and Army War College and is currently in a doctoral program at Concordia University Chicago.
While stationed in Afghanistan, Camp taught for the University of Maryland Global Campus but has never taught high school before.
Camp said he’s enjoying his time at LRHS so far.
“Other than being unbelievably exhausted at the end of the day, I can’t think of a better place to be,” he said.
Camp plans to utilize his extensive experience in the classroom.
“I just think it's important to try to take the experience and knowledge I've learned over the years and see if I can stimulate other folks, get excited and stay on the educational route and learn great things and be contributors to our society,” stated Camp.
Camp hopes to share his passion for science with his students, and said, “I want them to have a sense of wonderment about how amazing we are as humans, the world we live in, our impact…I want this to be the first drink that makes them want more.”
Camp stated, “I like to think I bring a ton of energy to the classroom because I'm unbelievably excited to be here.”
