Hayden Zimmerman-Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity volleyball team is off to a successful start this season.
Their record is 6-2 while only dropping five sets in total. Although they had two losses, the Mustangs maintained their ranking as number one in the district, and 11th in the state.
The team began their season with a 4-0 winning streak, only dropping one set.
The Mustangs went up against Parrish Community, St. Edwards, Altamonte Christian, Brevard Heat, Harvest Community, Melbourne, Manatee and Riverview High Schools.

The leaders of the team are Kora Yanes with 70 kills, Julia Vendramini with 103 assists, Mariana Alvarez with 85 digs, Ava Collins with 11 aces, and Avarie Tholl with 24 blocks.
The Mustangs are scheduled to play Palmetto High School on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Freshman will play at 5 p.m., junior varsity (JV) will play at 6 p.m. and varsity will play at 7 p.m.
