(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Pumpkin spice season is in full swing at Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS).

Fall is nearly here.  That means dressing cozy, cool weather and pumpkin spice flavored everything is back.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and my favorite part of it is all of the pumpkin spice flavored things. Another part of fall that I like is the weather and dressing cozy.

The pumpkin spice flavor has been around for centuries. The earliest-known pumpkin spice flavor dates back to a British recipe from 1675 with pepper, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon.

LRHS junior Stokely Brown said, “My favorite thing about fall is drinking pumpkin spice drinks from Dunkin Donuts.”

This blend is also used to flavor pumpkin pie, which is how it got its name. I personally love the pumpkin spice chai latte from Starbucks. This drink is very popular and many people love it.

LRHS junior Maia Jimenez said, “My favorite drink to bring to a pumpkin patch would be a pumpkin spice chai latte from Wawa.”

Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin muffins are some more popular fall foods.

LRHS junior Gabby Zevallos said, “My favorite pumpkin spice food is Pumpkin pie because it gets her in the fall mood and she loves to have it with a side of vanilla ice cream.”

Many people also relate the flavor of pumpkin spice to activities they do during the fall.

LRHS junior Carysa Gahllaghers said her favorite pumpkin spice memory is when she went to a German town in the fall and got pumpkin bread and  it reminded her of her childhood.
