(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch High School’s (LRHS) new boys basketball coach strives to emphasize the importance of community.
LRHS is starting a new chapter with its basketball program this year. Under the leadership of Head Coach and social studies teacher Kaden Knott, they expect to make big strides this year.
With nine years of coaching experience under his belt, Knott is "focused on rebuilding both the team’s culture and its role in the community.”
During the preseason, Knott hasn’t just kept his players in the gym. Instead, he’s made community service a part of their training routine.
“We helped out at a local youth league, refereeing at Braden River Middle” he explained. “We also went to the volleyball game to help support other teams at LRHS,” Knott continued.

Knott isn’t just about sports. He also led the team in a community clean-up with Keep Manatee Beautiful, a non-profit organization striving to find a solution to littering, illegal dumping, and recycling.
This balance between athletics and community service reflects Knotts' larger vision for this team's future as well as the future of his players.
