Gianna Platt- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch High School science teacher Tammy Harper was featured on Spectrum Bay News 9 as an A+ teacher of the week.
Bay News 9 features a different teacher every week to give recognition to educators who make a difference for students in their schools.
Harper teaches Chemistry and Advanced Placement (AP) Research. Not only does she teach, but she also enjoys getting to know all her students and creates an environment for them to thrive in.
“The thing I enjoy most about teaching is the students, I love seeing students getting excited about science, working together for common goals and having a classroom full of academics and helpfulness," said Harper.

Her students would agree that she is well deserving of A+ teacher of the week.
Claire Truong, a sophomore at LRHS stated that “She’s very caring about all her students and she makes sure everyone understands what she’s teaching.”
Sophomore Madison Lane added, “She’s very positive all the time.”
For Harper, this recognition is simply an opportunity to keep doing what she does best, helping students succeed.
