(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) cross-country team had a successful meeting on Sept. 13.

The boys placed second overall and the girls placed 10th overall.

The morning of the meet on the Holloway course in Lakeland, Florida, was cool and despite the tough, hilly course, many runners set personal records.

Many people were worried about the Holloway course because of the hills.

After the meet, everyone was proud of themselves for their hard work since the practices have progressively gotten harder.

Sophomore Joe Prola said, “It was hard and had lots of hills, there was much more kids than the last meet so it made it much harder to place and get a medal.”

Coach Rae Ann Darling Reed said, “Holloway is true cross country.”

Newly selected Team Captain Zachariah Kersey stated “Holloway is one of the most challenging XC courses of the season; we ran fast and placed well.”
