(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) had a blood drive Friday allowing students to donate to those in the community and save lives in need.
LRHS Blood Drive President Samantha Lia, senior, said, “People want to give back to the community, the blood goes to local hospitals.”
The blood drive was extremely successful, with over 130 people signing up to donate. Students who signed up had till 1:30 to donate.

Junior Luka Mikanovic said “I was initially scared to say the least. It was a little uncomfortable at first and it hurt a lot when she took the needle out, but I would do it again to help save lives.”
LRHS schedules four blood drives a year, once every two months.
