Jenna Khalil- Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lakewood Ranch High Schools (LRHS) girls' basketball team sets sights on a district title.

Head Coach Frank Bell will be coaching the team again this year.

The team's goals are clear - improve collectively and secure a district championship. To achieve this, they've dedicated their summer to intense training.

"The team and I have been in the weight room, conditioning, and holding open gyms over the summer," Bell stated, highlighting the team's commitment.

Mustang Girls Basketball Depends on Leadership

LRHS junior Danielle Dube brings a decade of basketball experience to the court and is ready to lead the Mustangs.

Last year she was sophomore captain, and this year Bell is counting on her to provide leadership.

"I plan to bring leadership, skills, and team contribution," she explained. "I want to be getting better every day myself and also helping my team to win."

Her passion for basketball is rooted in its combination of hard work, personal development, and the strong bonds it fosters.

"It gives me a place to be myself and build the strongest relationships along the way," she added.

With aspirations of playing division one basketball in college, she is focused on making the most of her high school career.

Balancing academics with athletics has been a learning process.

"Balancing basketball and school can be really hard sometimes," she admitted. "I struggled for a while, but once I got organized and prioritized the right things, I was successful."

With a blend of dedication, teamwork, and strategic planning, the (LRHS) girls' basketball team is ready to make a strong run this season.
