Breanna Henry- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Chemistry Club gives Mustangs an opportunity to explore chemistry in a fun and relaxed environment. The club focuses on creativity, experiments, and community beyond the classroom.
The club meets two Thursdays per quarter on campus and is open to all Mustangs interested in science, whether they want to dive deeper into chemistry or just try something new.
Led by President Nada Alhallaq, President- Elect Gabriela Otero, Vice President Andrew Bruns, and Club Adviser and LRHS science teacher Tana Phelps, the club creates a relaxed space where Mustangs can share ideas and do activities.

“My favorite thing about Chem Club is getting the chance to connect and interact with other students who are also interested in chemistry,” said Alhallaq.
“It’s really about the sense of community and being able to learn while also enjoying each other’s company,” she continued.
Allhalaq says the purpose of Chem Club is to make chemistry approchable.
“Chemistry can be intimidating in class, but our club makes it fun and interactive,” Allhalaq explained. “We want students to see science in action and realize it can be enjoyable, not just stressful.
“I love watching members get excited about an experiment or discussion,” she said. “It’s about building curiosity and giving everyone a space to enjoy learning together.”
