(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -- In our ever-changing world, the demand for certain jobs is constantly fluctuating, and high school serves as a pivotal time in adolescence for students to think about their future careers.
In the future, jobs in technology, healthcare, and education will be in high demand, driven by the growth of AI, an aging population, and the need for sustainability.
According to the World Economic Forum, “Frontline roles and essential sectors like care and education are set for the highest job growth by 2030, while advances in AI and renewable energy are reshaping the market.”
Mustangs at Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) who are interested in careers in the technology, education, and healthcare fields shared their opinions.
Junior Faith Finnegan said, “I am interested in becoming an emergency room (ER) nurse because I've always been interested in medicine, and I find the human body and the way that our bodies work so fascinating.
“Nursing and healthcare in general play such important roles because the people within it get to help others and make an impact on people's lives for the better, because it's an all-in effort to care for someone and save lives,” she continued.

Junior Sophia Finnegan said, “I’d like to be a paramedic because I think being on the go and helping so many people in a short time is so cool. Paramedics have a very important role because they are often the first people to assist on scene and are vital to keeping whoever they are helping alive.”
Junior Cate Kitcher said, “I'm very interested in engineering because both my parents are engineers and growing up, I’ve been involved with the Technology Student Association (TSA) since the start of fifth grade.
“This sparked my love for engineering and why I’m still involved with it today. I think it’s an important role because engineering is involved in many aspects of life. As the world evolves, engineering does too,” noted Kitcher.
Junior Lilly Pevzner-Downer said, “I want to work in primary school education because a lot of my core memories are from being in elementary school. I think it would be so cool to teach children how to read and give them the skills they need to succeed in life.”
