Mustangs Ahead will be carrying a new sports series from the perspective of our student athletes. These stories will include, from the writer's perspective, how students can benefit by taking part in a certain sport.
Carter Bagshaw – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Why I play hockey.
Hockey is one of the most important things in my life. I have grown up with it and gone through my life with it.
Hockey has brought me so many memories. Whether they are good ones, like winning a state championship and traveling to other countries like Canada to play against new teams, or bad memories like losing the state championship in the final multiple times or having doubts about whether I should continue playing or not.
Throughout all this, one thing has stayed constant in my life and that is hockey. I have always loved the game, ever since I was a little four-year-old kid playing street hockey in front of our house.

Ever since the first time stepping on the ice, hockey has been a part of my life in one way or another.
I play hockey not only for the memories but also for the people I meet along the way.
Many of my friends are either current or former hockey teammates that I have played with. I've had great experiences with the guys I have met along the way.
