Caroline Bartlomiejczuk- Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch junior Addison Shear has qualified for the state cross country championships. 

The boys cross country team and junior Addison Shear raced at North Port High School for regionals.

Shear ran a 22:04, placing 30th in the race and qualifying individually.

Shear said, “Making state is such an amazing accomplishment for me, I never thought that I would make it this far especially doing cross country for the first time. I am very proud of myself and I know that I can do anything I put my mind to.”

Shear is scheduled to race in Tallahassee on Nov. 22.

The Mustang boys cross country did not place high enough to qualify for states.  Leading the way was junior Colton Prater running a 16:45, junior Jacob Gomez running a 16:52, and junior Kenneth DeStefano running a 16:55.
