(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) junior Addison Shear represented the Mustang cross-country team in Tallahassee at the Florida High School State Championships on Nov. 22.

Shear was the only Mustang runner to represent LRHS on this level.

She ran the course in 21:36, and placed 130 out of 233 girls. Her results reflected both her growing talent and her determination throughout the season.

Shear shared that she is incredibly proud of how far she has come, especially considering that this is only her first year running cross country. What began as a new athletic experience quickly evolved into a passion, and she has pushed herself through every practice, race, and setback to reach this achievement.

Coach Rae Ann Darling Reed expressed immense pride in Shear’s dedication and drive. She said, “I have seen Addison grow so much with running and I couldn’t be more proud of her.”

Shear looks forward to building on this year’s success and returning even stronger next season.

She concluded, “This year gives me the motivation and momentum to go even farther next year and put in even more dedication into my training. I’m hoping to inspire the rest of the team to go along with me.”
