Katelyn Bagshaw, Aiden Hill and McKayla Inghram- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Wednesday, December 3, LRHS Chorus, Band, Orchestra, and Theater showcased the opportunities in the LRHS performing arts programs.
The music exposition is an annual event in which students from Nolan Middle School as well as several elementary schools are welcomed for performances and given information regarding the performing arts programs offered at LRHS.
This was the second-year band and orchestra participated. LRHS Orchestra president Sage Alcorn said, “We wanted to show them how much better they can become. I think they really liked it and took something from it.”
The annual event is a chance to see the capabilities of the performing arts programs at LRHS and begin to consider joining when they enter high school.
“I wanted this event to be able to inspire young students to join our programs here and give them the information they need, I’m proud of our work,” said LRHS Senior Sophia Wiseman.

The LRHS Jazz band played “How High the Moon” “Big Cup of Joe” and “You're a mean One, Mr. Grinch.”
The Orchestra played “Labyrinth.”
The Choir sang “Seal Lullaby,” “Hallelujah” and “Carol of the Bells.”
Choir member and Junior Liz Bentze said, “It was fun singing and talking to the kids. They seemed excited.”
The Choir and both Bands answered any questions the students had. This was in hopes of inspiring those younger children into performance.
“Lakewood Ranch leadership from each of our fine arts classes did a great job explaining the rewards and benefits of joining a performing group.” said LRHS Choir and Keyboard Director Rebekah Lester. “These types of events are great practice for performance such as learning the proper way to get off the stage and how we will be arranged for concerts.”
