Katelyn Bagshaw - Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) varsity hockey team won the Lightning Hockey Development League championship against Newsome High school.
The Mustangs beat Newsome 6-1 on Friday at Benchmark International Arena.
Goals were scored by Sergey Mirolyants, Jackson Ellis, Milton Sibner, Liam Johnston, Chase Koski and Carter Bagshaw.

Ellis and Sibner’s goals were powerplay scores. Mirolyants, Koski and Bagshaw scored short handed goals.
Mustang sophomore Cole Peacher said, “I was very confident in our chances to win the cup, with all of us being friends is really easy to get right back up after we go down”.
The Mustangs ended the high school season with 20 wins and 1 loss.
Senior Ayden Puzio said, “It was a great experience playing at Benchmark Arena, and I see us having a great chance at states.”
