Cassidy Barnhardt- Mustang's Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch Highschool (LRHS) Band enjoyed outstanding results from the Florida Bandmasters District 11 Solo and Ensemble, Winter Guard, and Jazz Band Music Performance Assessments.

Solo and Ensemble results were excellent. The group sent 44 students to participate.  The group received 41 superior ratings and three excellent ratings. 40 members qualified for states on March 16. The winter guard qualified for states for the 27th year in a row.

The Top Jazz Band earned straight superior ratings for the third year in a row.

“The Top Jazz Band is impressive; they play so well,” said LRHS Band Director John Wilkerson.

Sophomore Lily Pace said, “We all got together and chose a piece of music to play for the adjudicators (judges). We got superiors which means we get to go to states. I’m very excited.”

In total, 53 students from LRHS a scheduled to compete at state performances on March 16 at Palm Coast Matanzas High School.
