(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - As Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) underclassmen prepare to select their courses for next year, seniors are experiencing a different reality, one without classes to plan or prepare for.

For the class of 2026, end of course sign-ups mark another reminder that graduation is approaching soon.

“I'm relieved that I don't have to worry about if I'll get the classes I want anymore,” Zachariah Kersey said. “I'm looking forward to signing myself up for classes in college.”

Some seniors reflected on classes that ended up shaping their high school experience more than they expected, for Kersey, it was Advanced Placement (AP) Seminar.

“Going into it, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I met a lot of really good friends and learned more about topics I was interested in,” he explained. The course later led him to AP Research, which he said he truly enjoyed.

Senior Mark Magda shared a similar experience with TV Production.

“It was a much different class than anything I've taken before, but it was fun and I learned a lot of new things,” Mark shared.

While they all share excitement for the future, not all seniors feel fully prepared to leave. “I definitely don’t feel ready to move on from high school,” Magda explained. “But I think come graduation day, I'll be okay.”

As underclassmen decide their top-class choices, seniors offered simple advice: explore your options, choose classes that interest you, and balance your workload.

For seniors, the focus is no longer on next year's schedule, but on making the most of the little time they have left here at LRHS.
