Alexandra Khalil- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch High School’s (LRHS) senior Alexis Rissler represented the girls weightlifting team and placed second in the state.
Rissler, along with seniors Brooke Decillis and Gabbie Hotaling, competed at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Girls Weightlifting State Championships on Feb. 11.
LRHS physical education teacher and Head Weightlifting Head Coach Elijah Weaver said, “States went great, all of the girls competed very well and I am very proud.”

Rissler came in second place and was one point away from first in the Olympic division and fourth place in the traditional division. Decillis finished sixth in the traditional division.
Weaver concluded, “The girls did an amazing job, I am very excited for our younger girls, because I think collectively, that we have a good group of incoming freshmen for next season.”
