Addison Gentz – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -- Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs’ Spring Break is March 13 - 24.
Students have begun to look forward to the weeklong break away from school.
Students may pull away as a break draws near, and then later as the school year drags on, similar to right before winter break.
Student motivation is especially important to LRHS’s coaches. Attitude is key to successful competition, and they have some advice for student who may feel unmotivated and tired prior to break.

When asked how students can come back from break better prepared, Varsity Softball Coach Jeff Toscano said, "Take the time to look back and re-assess what has worked and what needs improvement.”
Boys Weightlifting Coach Andrew Shackelford said, “My advice for students to maintain motivation is to think about the bigger picture. Ask a student what their goals are, then ask them what they think it takes for them to achieve them.”
There are many ways for athletes to be motivated. Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Vito Bavaro said, “Using other athletes to push each other,” is how he motivates his players.
