(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - On March 5, Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Band Director Dr. John Wilkerson said, “Tonight was a historical night for the Bands of Lakewood Ranch.”
Both LRHS bands have qualified for state competition.
The Wind Symphony Band at LRHS earned straight superiors from all judges at their concert.
The Symphonic Band at LRHS made straight superiors. The Symphonic Band has never made a superior before.

This is the first time both the Wind Symphony and the Symphonic Band ever earned straight superiors at the Florida Bandmasters Association's District 11 Concert Band Music Performance Assessment (MPA).
This means both of the bands to have qualified for State Concert MPA.
Wilkerson said, “They have worked very hard, and I am so proud of all my students.”
Both of the bands at LRHS will continue to work diligently as they prepare for states.
