(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -- “My family is my greatest source of inspiration. They consistently encourage me to pursue my goals and strive for excellence,” said Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) junior Gabriella Martinez Reyes, the new Florida president for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Martinez Reyes won the presidency at the State 2026 Florida Leadership Conference.

Martinez Reyes said, “As I enter my senior year, I felt motivated to build upon what I have learned and take on a larger leadership role. Running for State President was a natural next step, allowing me to apply my experiences while working to further strengthen and support our members across the state.”

She has been in FBLA since seventh grade, where Martinez Reyes was one of four members in her middle school FBLA chapter.

Running for such a large position can be a challenge, but Martinez Reyes was ready to succeed.

Martinez Reyes said, “Running for State President was an incredibly rewarding and memorable experience. During the Opening Session, I had the opportunity to deliver a speech in front of more than 6,000 FBLA members, which was both exciting and nerve-racking.”

When preparing to run for the presidential position, she came up with the catchphrase, “Gaby the G.O.A.T.”

Martinez Reyes said, “’Gaby the GOAT’ was a creative and engaging way to stand out while also conveying a meaningful message. While it incorporates a lighthearted element, “GOAT” (meaning “Greatest of All Time”) it also reflects my commitment to helping every member reach their fullest potential, by becoming the greatest leaders of all time."

Martinez Reyes has many goals for this next school year.

“The state officer team and I are focused on three primary goals: enhancing communication, fostering stronger regional and state-wide unity, and developing meaningful resources to support local chapters,” she said.

Through these initiatives, the officer team aims to create a more connected and empowered membership experience for all Florida FBLA members.
