Alexandra Khalil- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) boys weightlifting team competed in the Manatee County Championships on Mar. 26 at Palmetto High School.
LRHS won both the Olympic and traditional divisions with a score of 49 for Olympic and 60 for traditional.
This is the Mustangs’ first victory in the county championships in the last 20 years.

For the Olympic division, LRHS’s champions were - 139 senior Ethan Ruben and 154 junior Jackson Brock.
For the traditional division, the winners were:169 senior Karl Sidnam, 183 senior Trey Rowland, 238 senior Cooper Orzel,119 senior Reece McCabe, 154 Brock, 69 senior Sam Lynch,139 Ruben, 154 junior Ricardo Rengifo, and 199 senior Drew Bruns.
Their next scheduled meet is the District Championships on April 9 at Venice High School.
