Ranch Reflections are articles written by LRHS students and staff who want to share their experiences, thoughts, and concerns. This is a great opportunity for Mustangs to branch out beyond traditional news stories.  In this edition an LRHS senior uses prior experience to enhance her prom preparations.

Erika Walters—Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - As a Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) senior, I am ready to attend my final high school prom.  By now I know exactly what it takes for a successful prom night, and this year I’m making sure I do it right.

I’m already looking forward to this year’s prom because I love the theme, and it is in a new, more spacious location.

First, I ordered my dress online and ahead of time, which I didn’t do last time and I regretted it. Last time, I ended up going to the mall to get a dress that I didn’t really like. It is important to plan ahead and not wait until the last minute.

Next, I am going to dedicate more time to getting ready so that way I have enough time to take pictures and eat dinner before prom. Last time, I was on a time crunch, and my group did not even eat dinner.

This time we made a reservation at Brio and planned out the times that we’re getting ready, taking pictures, eating dinner, and then going to prom so that it is all organized.

I want to make sure that my final prom is the best one, and I am sure that with this plan I will have a much better time this year. It is very important to plan for events like these ahead of time.
