(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School girls lacrosse is one win away from a District title after advancing through the semifinals.
LRHS girls lacrosse defeated Sarasota in the District semifinal last night, moving on to the District finals.
The Lady Mustangs, now 2-0 in district play, will host Riverview Sarasota tonight, April 14, at 7 p.m., while Riverview comes in with a 1-1 district record.
The winner will take home the district championship and move onto the regional playoffs.
Junior Gigi Canali said, “I am really excited for the finals, especially since we lost to them on their field last year, now they’re coming to us, and we get a rematch.”

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The Lakewood Ranch boys lacrosse team opened the playoffs with a 13-4 victory over Sarasota on April 9. This secured a spot in the next round and continued their momentum from the regular season.
In the semifinal round, the Mustangs faced Newsome in a high stakes rematch with a championship spot on the line. The Mustangs came out on top, 12–5.
The Mustangs now advance to the Championship game against Manatee, an in-town rival. Lakewood Ranch and Manatee have deep roots, with Manatee beating them in the Semifinals last year, and Lakewood beating them in the championship just two years ago.
The game is scheduled for April 15 at Manatee’s home field.
The boys finished the regular season with a 14-5 loss to Tampa Jesuit on April 1.
Lakewood Ranch had a scheduled game against Parrish Community, which was also Senior night, but unfortunately it was rained out and not rescheduled.
